I was running at the park in the ultimate purpose of *ahem* what else but to lose weight. Yeah, I am still on track with my new year’s resolution. On Sundays-Thursdays, only ladies are allowed inside the park so I can do almost anything without being embarrassed; not like I am doing something shocking or something. I just love to lay a mat on the grass and do stretches and some yoga.
One time, an Indian (judging from her dress – - most of them jog in flowing dresses!) approached and asked me if I can teach her yoga. I smiled and told her, no, I am just stretching and not really doing a proper yoga. I thought, wait, this lady should know about yoga than I do. She’s Indian after all.
As I walked out of the park, I felt dumb. Where did I get the thought that all Indians must be yoga experts? I looked at my husband and thought, what a shame if people also think that all Japanese were raised like the Karate Kid or worse, Sumo Wrestlers!
Do you have any assumptions regarding anything or anyone?

I think many people judge us by what they perceive our race, country, etc. to be. But you are right. We actually shouldn’t. Thanks for your post. It made me think.
