Have you noticed anything new on blogger?
By Grace on Dec 5, 2007 in blogging
Whatever happened to blogger blogs? Every time I comment, the comment form is either for Google/Blogger users, Nickname (whatever this means!) and for Anonymous. The new(?) comment form looks like this:

I don’t know if this is the new format to comment on blogger or if the owners of the blogger blogs I visit just happen to set it that way. So far, I have visited more than 20 blogs having the same comment form. Coincidence?
Any of you blogger users be kind to tell me why? Did you set it yourself or it is really the new (and only) form available for blogger? Thank you.
I have a blogger account/blog I created just to facilitate commenting on blogger sites but I would have preferred writing my name and my direct URL on the comment form.

they are messing with us.
I went in and switched to the blogger in draft thinking that the drop down box would provide other readers with their link. But, it isn’t working yet.
I believe the powers that be are sorting it out.
Crossing my fingers as I don’t want to start a new blog somewhere else

I think Google made some updates to this. It’s like with my Gmail, it has a new feature where you can assign different colors to labels for your email. They always like to make small improvements/add new features over time.

Well, what I think is that Google is trying to rule the world wide web. They want people to have google/blogger accounts even if they don’t want to.

Didn’t do anything to make it look like that.

It’s a new feature. I think they’re trying to keep up with folks like me who use Haloscan.

Yeah, I have noticed this. I wish it still allowed for you to put your web address in. Maybe it is to stop spam somehow?

I guess it’s about the “nofollow” issue. Or they are limiting direct linking.

I wish I could customize my comment form…
I tried using haloscan for a few seconds but switched it back to blogger’s comment form because I still have no idea how to view both my old comments and the new ones in haloscan.
Will be working on this one on year-end vacation… hopefully

I think it just means you can login to comment on Blogger using your Google or Gmail account even if you have not joined Blogger itself.
