suggestions for a web host company, please

I am currently having issues with my web host and on the lookout of a reliable yet affordable (this kind still exist right?) replacement. I am paying $6.95 per month right now and not quite ready to go beyond that budget.

So can you tell me which one you’re using and why you would recommend it?

When I totally messed up and deleted my blogs, they helped me put everything back together and when my GoDaddy account was hacked, they did a full scan and assured me that my hosting account was fine and pointed me in the right direction to find the problem.

2 On a limb with Claudia October 13, 2008 at 12:24 am: I use lunar pages (Lunarpages.com). I’ve used them for about 6 years – they are currently running a $4.95/mo special. Like anything, they have problems but unlimited space? unlimited bandwidth? any number of domains and accounts? They work very nicely for me!

3 David October 13, 2008 at 2:28 am: I’d recommend the obvious which is to check against the local or national BBB. Lunarpages is supposedly pretty good as is hostgator but your mileage may vary.

If I wasn’t so happy with hostloco I would seriously consider getting an account there myself.
3000 MB space + unlimited traffic for 1,25 Euros (~1,90&) a month. Apparently they even won some awards and stuff. Looks pretty good to me in any case.
