Sunday Good Reads: Start Cooking Blog

by Grace on February 22, 2009

If you are a busy person that just don’t have the time to learn the basics of cooking, then you will thank and appreciate Start Cooking Blog. Kathy Maister, the chief cook and producer of Startcooking.com teaches the basics in cooking and uses short, stop motion videos to teach basic, but important techniques. There are videos on how to prepare brownies, salads, chicken stir fry, lasagna, apple crisp, sweet and sour meatballs, the list goes on for a bit.

I had been cooking for as long as I remember and know the basics yet I still love to read this blog because of the very detailed description of recipes that are new to me and kitchen tips that include step by step pictures and videos. My daughter who loves to help me in the kitchen loves this blog too and we watch the wonderful videos together.

My favorite posts include Chicken Parmesan, Cooking with Beer, How To make Pancakes(Pristine’s favorite post), the very easy Chocolate Fudge and many, many more!

Although I’ve been cooking for years, I’ve learned so many new things that have made cooking easier and faster. If you love cooking as much as I do, you should visit Start Cooking Blog. In fact, everyone should!

Great site, thanks for sharing. I’ve been meaning to finaly learn how to cook but I’ve never had a good enough resource – all cooking sites assume that you already know the basics. Gonna make some beef stew now :) .

What a great blog you found. Even though I love to cook, I also enjoy learning tips and techniques from others.

Your photos of the dancer above are great. It’s amazing how talented they are and how entertaining they are. I’m having so much fun reading the blogs from bloggy carnival now that I have time to read and comment.
