wordpress theme help

by Grace on January 21, 2008

Notice the change? Jump out from your feed reader and on to my site. I am experimenting with yet another theme. Zeke theme from Solostream is I think a very neat theme and I absolutely love the colors. The layout is unique with one area for a feature post and two sidebars. One problem though, the other posts beneath the featured post are pushed down when seen in Internet Explorer 6 but it is working well in IE7, Opera and Firefox browser.

I really love this theme right now if only for this single flaw in IE6 that I don’t know how to fix (although I am pulling all my hair out by trying to go over my CSS book)! This theme is free so I guess I should find my way out. If you know what to do with a phenomenon like this regarding wordpress theme, please help!

Update: Thanks to Eric who provided a solution to the IE6 bug. Michael D. Pollock of Solostream (the creator of this great theme) also pointed out that some of the photos were too big causing the posts to be pushed down. (Margin problems in CSS)

Now, everything is working great. I am a happy girl! The new theme, do you like it or do you LIKE it?

The colors are gorgeous! I love that burnt orange w/ red – very warm and cozy, yet sophisticated.

Ha! If I remember correctly that’s one of the themes I showcased in one of my TT posts last year. It’s nice to see it live, not only on a template page.
I have to say it looks great, although this wood panelling is a bit off. Doesn’t really seem to fit in with the header. And considering your blog’s title some grainy sand texture would seem more fitting to me as a background. Matter of taste, though.

Regarding the IE6 problem I’m stumped as well. IE always does such crazy things with designs, and it’s really annoying. One more reason IE sucks.

Love the colors Grace. Reminds me of a trade bazaar where all the spices might be. I am pretty sure I have IE6 and it looks fine to me.
That’s a great idea to have a featured post.

Sorry I’m so late in visiting. I would have told you I had the same problem with my original WP blog. The photos were too big!

BTW, remember when you first switched to WP and you weren’t getting your comment emails? How did you fix that? I seem to be having the same problem now.
