Pristine would always ask, almost every morning, “what’s that sound, mom?” or “What’s inside those, mom?”
“Oh, It’s from the toilets. Your morning xxx is being flushed and going through those pipes right [...]

So that explained the gloomy weather, dark clouds and sun not showing up this morning. Funny I hoped it would bring on rain.
In a fire in Jebel Ali chemical depot, “There were explosions, sending debris up to 300 meters in the air,” according to a report in GulfNews. However, there were no casualties.
The Jebel Ali [...]

In a country with a gigantic construction boom, harboring thousands and thousands of construction workers without the right to create a labor union, this is so evident.
About 600 workers marched from their labour accommodation in Jebel Ali to Sheikh Zayed Road protesting against the deductions of food allowance from their meager salaries.
Their current wage is 1Dhs 470 a month [...]

The time was 3pm, the party was in full swing. There were so many children, faces all lit up and happy. The moms were also there, in beautifully colored summer sun dresses. I do not know all of them and they seemed to look at me in a strange way but I did not care, [...]

Cathay Pacific flight CX900 bound for Hong Kong with connecting flight CX731 to Dubai left Manila at the expected time of departure, without delay, without hesitation and without my mother.
This is going to be a long rant so sit back, relax and get angry. (The amount of anger I poured into this entry is not [...]
