Since yesterday, there is that definite feeling in the air that a storm is on its way.
Cyclone Gonu skirted the coast of Oman last night as the UAE authorities told residents here not to panic and weather experts said the storm appeared to be weakening and moving north towards Iran.

The intensity of the wind kept increasing in Muscat. Stron winds and heavy rain started coming down by 7 pm. All companies advised their employees to go home and stay at home until the Gonu is gone — in two days perhaps?

The last time it rained here in Dubai was last March 19. As the cyclone is weakening as it moves towards the empty sea, I wish for a little rain.
Tropical cyclone Gonu is expected to enter parts of the UAE today, Wednesday 6th of June 2007, generating thunderstorms, heavy rains and high winds.
This morning, waiting for the bus under the hot sun was not so hard because of the cool wind….ah, if only it did not bring a lot of sand with it!
