Thick fog blankets Dubai

by Grace on October 2, 2007

I don’t know how the news ignored such a scene sometime last week.

Just left of that building under construction is a traffic signal in a big intersection. We can see the traffic light change from our balcony and see the buses and cars on the road. But that morning just before 7 am we could not see anything:

Pristine shouted, “Fog! fog! It’s very cold outside!!” I grabbed the camera and stepped out. Yeah right. The camera lens immediately clouded with the high humidity accompanied by temperature difference and blurred everything. I had to wipe the lens repeatedly to take the picture.

Crazy Working Mom – Well nothing really happened…just one of those moments when humidity is too high and the temperature drops — from the usual 35+ in summer mornings to 30C.

Sabine – No it wasn’t cold at all! It was sticky yucky hot that morning!

Hi Maribeth – fog happens a lot here in Dubai because of high humidity being a coastal area. It’s just funny how my daughter and also me sometimes, associate fogging with cold…we are always disappointed when we go out! :-)

How do people get around the city if they can’t even see in front of them? Cool photo!
