city night out
Posted in dubai public scene on 05/05/2007 10:01 am by GraceIf you had been watching a lot of TV featuring Dubai lately, you wouldn’t miss Shiekh Zayed Road — a major highway in Dubai where the skyscrapers are lined up making it impossible to see both sides of town. The emirate of Dubai is synonymous with glitz and glamour and taking a taxi along this highway with futuristic skyscrapers is surreal.

You wouldn’t miss the Emirates Twin Towers too, which is gaining much popularity as one of Dubai’s famous landmarks.
The Emirates Twin Towers at night
The high-rise buildings are tad boring during daytime but wait till it gets dark! The boring gray buildings reveals a different face — colorful lights that change into a spectrum of colors!
The hubby is working in a building opposite the Emirates Twin Towers, thus the visit to Shiekh Zayed Road area on a busy Thursday afternoon. If not for his prodding to see his workplace, I wouldn’t have cared. Going out on Thursday afternoon/nights is always a recipe for disaster. No buses, full buses, elusive taxis, no taxis…we came back home at 12mn (left his building at 8 p.m. after dinner)
And oh, before I forget, just outside the hubby’s office window is a history in the making.
