hitting the beach

All we did was flag down a taxi and in less than 15 minutes, we were facing the arabian sea.  We went to Mamzar Beach Park, a beach and a yes, park just a few minutes away from where we are staying.

For the first time since we came here, we are looking at cloudy skies. The promised unending blue Dubai sky proved to be wrong. They have clouds here too, hehe. Donned in our plain shirt and jeans, we headed to the beach park. When we arrived, we learned a valuable lesson: never understimate the desert! A desert in winter would mean you can still wear short-sleeved shirts but always have a light jacket or cardigan to save yourself from grabbing a piece of tissue and start sneezing. It was very windy and even though this is hard to believe, it was COLD! The beach water itself was cold.

Here’s a picture of the pristine beach with emerald green waters and powder sand, along with me on the background, forcing a smile while shiverring underneath my thin shirt.

You live THAT close to the beach!!! You are so lucky. I’m sure that adjusting to the new country is going to be hard but I’m sure you will cope just fine with it. Nice photo of you!
