soaring gas prices

The average retail price of gasoline in Japan hit its record all time high of 170 yen/liter (US$1.6) according to our direct and reliable news source: my in-laws! My FIL called me last weekend to ask about our life here in Dubai and the brought up gasoline question. Price of petrol here in the UAE is at 6.4 dirhams per gallon, equivalent will be around 50 yen/liter (US$0.47).
Japan’s petrol price is 3.5 times more expensive!
FIL wailed in shock and after picking up his jaw off the floor, said if we could send some petrol for Father’s day.
oh wow, I had to pick up my jaw from the floor too! Though here in the US, we are now paying $4.00 a gallon in California!

I paid $3.53 this morning for gas. It’s come down about 5 cents since earlier in the week. I keep having to remind myself that we have it good as compared to the prices in Europe…but when I hear about your prices…can you send gasoline through the mail?

Hehe… It’s the same in Saudi. Water’s more expensive than petrol. If only we could chug gasoline instead of water…

Our gas prices are like $4.00 a gallon. It costs like $50.00 to fill our tank. It’s insane.
