Spur of the moment blog theme change and an inspiration

by Grace on August 24, 2009

If you have visited my blog or jumped out from your RSS reader to comment (you’re subscribed, right?), you must have noticed the new blog look. So what happened here?

I was in a different mood.

One fine day, I just wanted peace, order and cleanliness in the blog front so I gave this blog theme from Randa Clay, one of my favorite designers who love simplicity, a spin. I felt I wanted a little easy on the eyes theme so this look will stay for a while even if you thought it’s bone dry or too simple. Or maybe until I decide to spice it up a bit (not guaranteed though since I have no designing skills).

I just wanted to feel a little bit more inspired, you know? You’ve had that feeling for sure - you’re a little bit on the downside that you suddenly want a change and go shopping for new clothes? That’s the same feeling I had/currently have (only I don’t have moolah for new clothes right now so I change blog themes instead LOL).

Speaking of inspiration, remember the 12 week Turbulence Training Transformation Contest that I said I participated in? Well, the results are in and you can see the before-after photos and essays of the men and women chosen as finalists and VOTE a winner for each category.

See the photos, read the essays and be inspired to make changes if you needed them in your life. You have to go beyond just looking at the before and after photos and go through the powerful essays until you say, if this guy or girl can do this, I can too!

Turbulence Training Transformation Contest 12th week

No, you won’t see me in the list of finalists because I did NOT submit my final report & “before & after” photos. Actually, I am proud of my “after” photos, no matter how many criticisms I get that I need to lose more (which is true). What I wasn’t ready to show to the world was my “before” photos. A photo of me in a two-piece swimsuit, with the ultimate blubber exposé. I. Just. Can’t. Post. That.

…for your sake.

The best photo I can post without having to hide in the caves until year 2022 is this. That’s me and my belly after 16 weeks of doing the Turbulence Training program. I didn’t hold my breath.

Finally, at Craig Ballantyne’s fat loss blog, he wrote:

Kekich Credo #59 says, “Intense Desire is the foundation of all achievement.”

And I agree.

Now here’s a question to ask yourself…

“Do you really, truly have an INTENSE burning desire to succeed with your fat loss goals? Or is this interest in losing fat “the flavor of the month” for you?”

Thank you, Craig for making the exercise program that really works and for all the inspiring articles you write in your blog and in the newsletters that help build up this INTENSE burning desire inside of me to work harder! God bless you for helping many peoples struggling with weight like me. I thank the day I found Turbulence Training in Google.

Looking forward to the next Turbulence Training Transformation Contest (starts on August 31st)! Bring it on!

the theme is too plain that i thought it’s unfinished (just an honest opinion) but clean and plain is what you are going for right?

and hey… great job with the turbulence training. keep it up!

and very strategic photo taking!

I love this new look…simple.
Me too, i wouldn’t believe you will pose wearing two-piece, GREAT transformation if you WILL. In fact, i was a little bit shock when i first saw you showing your belly in this blog…question in mind, “Is that you Gracie?”

Hey there Grace. Great writing on the blog & great work with your transformation. Although I haven’t seen what you looked like before, it sounds like you’ve had some fantastic progress thus far. Keep in mind that one day, (and I’m hoping so), you will post your ‘before’ photos. Yes, it’s kinda embarrasing in one sense, but think about it,,, if I hadn’t posted mine, would you have been as inspired and encouraged that it’s possible??? I hope you re-consider somewhere down the track, maybe when you feel more confident with the progress that you’ve made, not that you haven’t done great already. For anyone who hasn’t already seen my ‘kinda embarrassing’ ‘before’ pics, along side my not-so embarrassing ‘after’ pics, they can be viewed at: http://www.transformationcontest.com/ If you scroll down, I’m the first one in the ‘Spring Edition’.

Be encouraged all,,, almost anything is possible with determination, consistancy, hope, belief, and most of all, LOVE!

Getting younger, stronger, fitter, healthier, and happier,

Robyn (alias Sparkie) :)

Great site…keep up the good work. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,

A definite great read…
