My week 3 of the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest is a little bit erratic. A recap of my week includes some meals that aren’t exactly spectacular, calorie-counting wise. Something that involved a full-course posh dinner including a creme brule and a souffle (courtesy of a bloggy friend who came to Dubai last week), a children’s party and Krispy Kremes. Add to that, I missed 2 days of workout because of my period. I just can’t manage to workout on certain days of the month.
Sounds like a failed week, right?
But I have to accept that there will be days when I do well with regards to exercise and nutrition and there will be days when I slip but it doesn’t mean I can’t come back to track again. One of my favorite quotation regarding weight loss is this:
You’re invited to climb the hill. No one can climb it for you. If you slip, the hill doesn’t get any higher. It remains, awaiting your next effort. No matter how many times you slip, as long as you make a tiny bit of progress each time, you will get to the top.
Isn’t it inspiring and beautiful? No one climb it for you. I like that. My weight problem won’t be solved by anyone but me. That phrase kicks my butt and inspires me to be more active.
For this week’s damage control, I came back to the gym and did my exercise with a little bit more intensity to cover the missed days. Carried more weights and added repetitions/sets and other than the heavy meals I had on some days, I avoided anything that has wheat. No bread, cookies, biscuits, pasta and cereals for me, as much as possible and slowly removing rice from my diet. I say, slowly removing rice but not completely. I still eat it once a day. It’s been part of my staple diet for more than 30 years and can’t remove it completely, abruptly. I drink only water (or tea without sugar) and ate lots of fresh fruits and vegetables instead of rice. So far, so good.
So this week, I have learned that if friends come over and invite me to eat, I’ll eat and enjoy my time. There’s no need to shy away from social gatherings just because I’m trying to lose weight. I’ll have a plan, do damage control and try to balance exercise and nutrition and I’ll be ok.
Speaking of the Turbulence Traning Transformation Contest, last day to enter will be on Tuesday, May 26! If you want to transform your body (and don’t mind getting a cash prize for doing so…although for me, the cash prize is just a bonus) or simply like to have the motivation to lose weight, now’s the chance to finally do that. What is 12 weeks in your entire lifetime? Be brave, give it a go!

Good on you Grace and i am not fond of working out during that time of the month too.
My week of workout has not been very fruitful either and need to get back into it.
Good for you for losing another pound and a half!! I like the idea of doing “damage control”. My problem is I mess up once, feel bad about it, and then completely fall of the wagon.
Good on you Grace and i am not fond of working out during that time of the month too.
Well, I’ve seen pics of you and you sure don’t look like you need to lost any weight. You’re so little! But good luck to you anyways and congrats on every pound you shed!

Good luck with this diet. I always find that being too hard on yourself when you have a bad day leads to more bad habits, and a cycle of failing the diet. So try to stay positive throughout and not put too much pressure on yourself. I find exercise boring, but have stuck my running machine in front of my TV. Can now stay on it much longer!

I have been doing a diet and exercise routine for a while. When I am doing this for about 6 weeks I get really tired and sore so I give up, then I realize I shouldn’t give up I should just keep climbing that long to reach my weight loss goal.
