Week 1: August fitness challenge

by Grace on August 7, 2009

After completing the 12 week Turbulence Training Transformation Contest and losing 10 lbs, I’m up for another challenge, this time a short one – just four weeks! I’m joining Kimberly of Living the Fit Life in her August Fitness Challenge to stay motivated in my weight loss goal and continue my journey.

Kimberly Linton has been a vibrant part of the fitness community for over 16 years as a personal trainer, former body builder and group fitness instructor.

If you’re in for the challenge, today’s the last day to enter. Do check out the rules of the game here. Follow Kimberly on Twitter or subscribe to her blog for updates on her blog posts and other motivational tools!

One quote from Kimberly stuck to my mind when I gave her my starting stats (my starting weight):

What you are today does not dictate your tomorrow-Working hard toward a goal will get you there in the long run.

So I’m in and will be updating every week until the end of August!

Week 1 (8/1-8/7)): -2 lbs

Wow! Congrats Grace :) . I know it’s soooo hard to lose all those pounds and to have the discipline to really exercise. Hay… I wish I can get your kind of discipline.

There is nothing wrong with being comfortable in your skin or weight but the thing is, I am NOT comfortable nor content wtih mine

Do you know of any challenges for people who have not exercised in years, and who have to start out slowly?

I am glad that you took the time to think about health and wellness and consider to start an exercise program. There’s a beginner program for Turbulence Training that is aimed for people who have been inactive for some time. Give it a spin. Will email you more!

Good for you Grace, I’m pulling for you ~ I know you can do it!

Thanks, Lorie! I don’t know how much I’ll lose but I am doing this for myself, for my health’s sake!
