Week 1 into the Transformation Challenge

by Grace on May 9, 2009

This is my first week into the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest.

I had been doing well with the workouts, never missing a day but my food intake was a little bit erratic due to social functions. On Saturday, I had a nice dinner with my family at a luxurious restaurant courtesy of a prize I won from a radio contest. The food was great and well, evil. But I was full right after salad and appetizer so I didn’t lick the desert off its plate. On Tuesday, we got invited to a huge party and it was oozing with good food and booze. Amazing how even if you’re very hungry, the sight of food sprawling in the table can make you full in an instant! I had a glass of wine, an orange juice, a small stick of lamb kebab, 2 small sticks of Malaysian Satay chicken, a slice of bread, a lamb cutlet of Moroccan Tagine and 1 small California roll and lots of water. That’s it. Yes, I take note of everything I put into my mouth right now because you can’t out-train a bad nutrition. I told myself, if I am too lazy to do this, it means I am not serious with losing weight. And you bet, I am serious with making lifestyle changes this year, once and for all.

Friday (yesterday) was weigh in day. I am down 1.3 lbs despite attending two parties and PMS (I usually gain before my period)!

This week, I progressed into another level in my squats – by carrying a 25 lbs. disc and doing 15 squats in 3 repetitions. What a great workout in itself done in less than 10 minutes!

Week 1 workout included: DB split squats, stability ball jacknife, stability ball leg curls, DB incline press, kneeling pushups, DB rear deltoid raises and lots of prisoner squats. You can find more workouts in the full Turbulence Training program. TT’s author, Craig Ballantyne offers FREE workouts on his TT Fatloss blog. If you have decided to give TT a try, check out the Best Beginner Fat Loss Workout.

If you think TT is easy-peasy, try doing bodyweight squats for 15 times or do a plank and hold for even 10 seconds and tell me about it! I’m ready for Week 2, hoping not to hit the weight loss plateau and enjoying the workouts and renewed energy.

Hope your week is great and healthy!
