Week 12: The 5th Transformation Contest ends

by Grace on July 25, 2009

* Updated with photos, however not high-quality but still clear enough to dissect. *

I can’t believe twelve weeks has passed since I joined the Turbulence Training transformation contest. So today, I look back and share some important realizations and lessons I have learned this past twelve weeks:

1. Everything I do will have consequences. Every choice I make takes me closer to or further from my goals.

So can I still eat Burger King or a candy while on a fat loss program?

Sure, I can do ANYTHING I want. I just need to understand the consequences of my actions and that it could slow down, stop, or reverse my fat loss results.

2. If I fall off the wagon, I’ll have to cut my losses, dont worry much about it, and get right back on track. Immediately. I won’t quit just because I stumbled once – same goes for anything in life!

3. The harsh truth is, “if it’s in your house, you’re going to eat it.” – I started Turbulence Training by getting rid of the junk, and not buying it in the first place! Wonder how to start living healthy? Clean up your cupboard first.

4. Fat loss is easy once you accept how hard it is.

5. It is how I fit into my clothes and look in the mirror that counts. NO ONE wears a scale around the neck or a t-shirt with their weight on the back. It’s just a number.

I still have a lot to work for and lots to improve in my nutrition so I won’t emerge as the ultimate winner in this contest but one thing I am so certain about that I would really like you to know is that: Turbulence Training WORKS.

I admit, I was skeptical at first but the Turbulence Training trial offer at $9.95 is cheaper than a drink and sugary treat at Starbucks – which don’t have any positive effect on the body except for temporary euphoria, maybe.  The trial offer comes with a 3-month access to the Turbulence Training forum where you can meet and ‘talk’ with real people having the same health and fitness goals. You’ll get all the social support you’ll need at the forums. I wouldn’t be able to complete twelve weeks if not for the motivation and support and information that I got there!

Also, like what I did three months ago, you can download the free sample Turbulence Training workout for men and women to try it out yourself. Also, you can start reading Craig Ballantyne’s TT fat loss blog for motivation and fat loss advice. Great stuff he writes there!

By the way, I joined the transformation contest because I was motivated by the success stories of the brave men and women who committed themselves to changing their lifestyle for the better and losing weight once and for all. I hope their stories inspire you wherever you are in your fitness journey.

The twelve weeks of the transformation contest has ended but my journey isn’t. In fact for me, it’s just the beginning.

Photo update:

I admit, I cringe at the thought of people looking at my midsection – the cause, reason and root of my fitness worries and at times, self hate. I have belly fat like all my excess weight are concentrated there. Oh well, I don’t have tiny thighs and butt but you get my point. Here’s a comparison photo of my belly project through the transformation contest:

See what I meant by “I’m just beginning”? I still have lots to do to get me to my goal  (still have that layer of belly fat to burn) but I know if I continue to do the things I have done for the passed twelve weeks, I should be ok.

*Just a note, my arms are even smaller than before eventhough I am lifting heavy weights. No bulking up the man muscles as opposed to what others believe regarding women who lifts heavy weights! *

So..twelve weeks flew very quickly. Don’t wait for another tomorrow to make a change in your life, do it now (I’m glad I did)!

Okay, I have come to agree with ALL those realizations. More importantly, they are 110% true(sad to say). But the more you realize them and follow what they imply, the better off you will be =]
Thanks for telling us about them!!

Hey Grace, congrats on finishing the 12 weeks! Great job on writing down the lessons you learned. That is a big deal!

So, where are the pictures? I guess I’m going to have to check out TT members.com to see them…lol.

Congratulations Grace!

Sounds like you accomplished a great deal. Simply changing your way of thinking seems to me to be the biggest hurdle and you’ve done it!

I’m wondering if I need to go order my free sample now and play follow the leader. Thanks for taking us step by step, it was quite interesting.

You look fantastic (although, I thought you looked great before you started the program)! I’m sure that you feel better too. Maybe I’ll get brave and try to follow in your footsteps – BUT – no posting of before photo’s…it might scare people. LOL
