Charm Design was founded by Ranja Lee, a stay at home mom with two children. She started her love for sewing since high school and pursued her dream and studies at the Vantan Design Institute in Tokyo. She then worked at a children’s clothing company as a designer for several years.
Now, in between taking care of her kids, she designs and sew bags. She was featured in The Martha Stewart Shoe in February 2008! I can totally see why! Look at these beautiful creation of hers:
I don’t know about you but as someone who has lived in Japan for more than ten years, for me, there’s just something very appealing with Japanese inspired fabric and the bags created by Charm Design just oozes with that style and appeal!

I like the light blue flower river because I have some material just like that which I’ve had for years and don’t dare cut it up and sew it into something.
