My most memorable piece of jewelry is a a brooch and earring set that my grandmother had. It was little blue flowers made of shells.

I adore the earrings my grandmother gave me. Flower petals made from silver with little blue sapphires in the middle. My grandfather had made them himself for my grandmother. When he passed away, my grandmother wanted me to have something he had made.

The bamboo zen glass pendant is very lovely in Little Brown Bird’s shop.

Your grandfather is such a sweet man! I bet men like him are hard to come by these days!

I picked the Hand Print Earrings as the most memorable piece. They remind me of the hand prints in clay I have of all three of my children. Although they are grown and have children now I still keep these in a glassed front cabinet with my other treasures.

Aww, we moms just want to keep memories of our kids forever, don’t we?

I am so glad the giveaway is earrings for they are my favorite piece of jewerly. I also love the Copper Water Lily earrings but if I had the money I would buy every pair, all of them are just beautiful and unique. I have never seen a site with so many unusal earrings. You could not wear any of them that they would not be the first thing noticeable about you. Thank you for finding these and allowing me to MAYBE win!

I agree, Little Brown Bird has lots of beautiful pieces! Goodluck!!

my most memorable piece of jewelry is a white rose brooch that i received from a friend on the Christmas after my first husband passed away. it was special because at the time, i was missing his gifts to me and sort of wished for a white rose as a sign that he was still watching over me.

I am sure he is still watching over you. What a sweet memory.

My most memorable piece of jewelry is a simple pink heart necklace that represents breast cancer awareness. Every time I wear it, I think of my mom who successfully beat stage 3 breast cancer over 6 years ago.

Kudos to your mom! I agree, that pink heart necklace must be so memorable for you and your mom, too.

my grandmother’s gold wedding band, worn thin with age, that she chose to give to me. that meant a lot to me–she had many grandchildren!!

You must hold a special place in her heart that’s why she chose to give it to you. Weren’t the others jealous about it? (Just curious)

I’m going to be sappy, but I think my engagement ring has the most meaning for me. We’re getting married this fall, after being together for 10 years, and when we went to pick out engagement rings, she picked out a ring for her that was much more my style, and I picked out a ring for me that was her style. So I love my ring because it’s gorgeous, and because I have that piece of her in it.

Such sweet couple you two are! Best wishes on your wedding!

I love the Chained Victorian Hand Blown Glass necklace, it’s stunning and very unusual.

23 trisha too February 14, 2009 at 10:07 pm

and, since i really like turquoise, either the silver and turquoise earrings (i wear earrings ALL the time) or bracelet would probably be at the top of my list.

My most memorable piece is the diamond and sapphire ring that was my mother’s engagement ring. She died when I was quite young and my father gave it to me on my 21st birthday.

I like traditions like this. What a sweet way to remember your mom and how thoughtful of your dad to keep a piece of her jewelry!

26 herblady February 15, 2009 at 4:44 am

My favorite item in the store is the Aryka-Hill Tribe Silver and Turquoise Bracelet. Lovely.

My most memorable piece of jewellery is my engagement ring!!

My dh proposed to me on Thanksgiving Monday (Canadian!!) and we decided to elope (after eight years of dating!!).

We visited the jewellers, ordered an engagement ring and bought the wedding band.

We got married the next weekend…the engagement ring was finished the week after that…so I got engaged after I got married (to the same man)!!!

..and we will celebrate our 27th year of marriage this year…

That is such a unique story and a sweet one as well!!

Love the Chained Victorian Hand Blown Glass necklace (am a sucker for anything Victorian!!)

33 NGS February 16, 2009 at 3:13 am

When I was a little girl, my aunt and uncle gave me a necklace that was made of an Indian head penny. I wore it forever and ever. I lost it somewhere around my sophomore year of college (what idiots we become in college!) and I have been looking to replace it ever since. It was so simple, but somehow touched a nerve with me.

Of course, now I have to say that my engagement and wedding rings are my current irreplaceable and memorable pieces of jewelry…but a part of me thinks I might take that necklace over those…shhhh…don’t tell my wonderful husband!

The necklace you lost was really very important to you, huh! I am sorry you lost it. I hope somehow, it finds its way back to you.

Well, besides my engagement and wedding rings…A few years ago before Christmas, my husband and I were at a jewelry store during a street fair. I exclaimed over a necklace, simply because it was pretty, not because I was hinting or anything. On Christmas, I opened up a little box, and there was the necklace. It’s beautiful, an antique from the ’20s, made of (synthetic!) garnets, which is my birthstone, and the birthstone of our firstborn, who I was pregnant with at the time. It always reminds me that my husband notices what I like and thinks of me!

What a sweet and very observant husband you have! These kind of men are RARE!

I love the Leaf and Berry Necklace. It’s beautiful.

My most memorable piece of jewelry is a heart shaped amethyst ring. A few years ago I thought my husband had forgotten Valentine’s Day. When I got to work my locker was decorated and the ring was inside!

My most memorable piece of jewelry is a sterling silver ring I bought for myself when I was going through a tough time…a LONG time ago (when I was 17). It is a plain band with the word “Fortis” inscribed around it. “Fortis” means “Strength” in Latin. I still wear this ring.
Thanks so much for listening :o )
