Urbanknit is a design collective started by Dolapo James with the aim of providing fresh and interesting handmade fashion accessories that are unique and offer the wearer a sense of individuality. From handbags and clutches and purses in bright African prints and batiks, to customizable scarves and neckwarmers, there is something for everyone who’d like something a little bit different.

Dolapo, the talented artist behind Urbanknit started knitting from about 7 and have carried on ever since, set up her online shop more formally as a business about 4 years ago.

Quoting Dolapo:

The name Urbanknit is derived from ideas about the vibrance, variety and interconnectedness of modern cities and modern city living which are interests from my architectural background that influence my work.

Where does she get her inspiration?
From anything! She says she likes people watching and in cities like London, there are so much variety and people fins such interesting ways to combine colours, fabrics, patterns. Loads ideas come from just watching peole go by!

MY PERSONAL FAVORITES:

I think these two go well together and would be a great wardrobe accessory.

I love the clutch featured, I ADORE the clutch featured but also like the Mini Snap-Pink and Grey Aso.
