Shellie Mitchell is the talented artist behind shellieartist Etsy shop that features eclectic, unique and vividly colored pieces of art ranging from cute kitties, kid’s collection, water forms, abstract and a whole lot more.

For the past 8 years Shellie has been creating artwork with fabric on wood blocks which she calls “Fabric on Wood”. She considers herself an expressionistic artist and studied painting, printmaking and alloys in college. She graduated from Appalachain State University.

Shellie explains Fabric on wood art:

Fabric on Wood Process – Each cut out piece of fabric is placed on the wood with a rice based starch and then polyurathaned several times. Some pieces are touched up with acrylic or oil paint, gel pens, oil pencils or anything I can get my hands on that I think will do the job.
