Love your skinz (Giveaway)

** This giveaway is now closed. Thank you very much for all the entries. **

** Congratulations to willowsprite! **

Dubai is sunny at an average of 330 days a year which means we are exposed to the sun more. It can’t be denied that children love the pool and the beach. My family frequents the beach as we live very close to it. I am aware of the harm the sun can do to our skin, so I have searched high and low for a more protective swim wear for more than two years. I can’t believe how many parents expose their children to the sun here!

I am worried of Pristine’s skin especially if it turns red in just a few minutes of sun exposure. She doesn’t like sunscreen lotion, some of them even irritated her skin! When applying sunscreen, I am anxious of missed spots or under application and I have had sleepless nights scratching her back when sunburn is healing.

Then I ‘met’ Rhonda of UV Skinz and all was well! :-)

Happy with UV skinz!

Pristine so happy with her Skinz (it’s not pink, for a change)!

(See how the boy’s bare body in the background. After 30 minutes he was as red as a lobster!)

What are UV Skinz?
UV Skinz are sun protective swim shirts that carry a UPF rating of 50+ which blocks out over 98% of the sun’s harmful rays, protecting delicate skin from damaging sunburns. Sunscreen isn’t always enough, is often used incorrectly and may be irritating to some skin types.

Loving her skinz!

UVSkinz Mission
After company founder, Rhonda Sparks, lost her 32 year old husband to skin cancer (leaving three small children behind!), she decided her life’s work would be to educate and raise awareness about the potential dangers of the sun.

Quoting Rhonda:

I want parents to be aware about sun protection because I’ve had to learn the hard way. Let’s prevent as many sunburns as possible. This is my husband’s legacy to his own three sons and to as many children I can reach with UV Skinz!

UV Skinz fabric is breathable and is silky soft to the touch and has no chemicals, irritating seams or appliques that bother the skin. It is very comfortable (Pristine wouldn’t want to take it off and wears it at home!), cool and functional. I love that it includes an exclusive name tag in the kid’s collar – no more lost swim suits at school! Oh and did I tell you they’re fashionable? Just check out some of the the lovely colors and designs!

Honestly, I have no idea why this protective clothing is not readily available in Dubai. If you are a parent living in Dubai, do check out  UV Skinz! My daughter has never been happier without having me slather her with lotion and I am a more relaxed mom thinking my child can enjoy playing under the sun without being harmed.
