the new miss universe

Ms. Japan Riyo Mori (???) was crowned the new Miss Universe yesterday in Mexico. She is the 2nd to win the crown for the country after 48 years! I wouldn’t be surprised if whole of Japan is going gaga this very minute.
Here’s an attempt to write an entry in Japanese for my friends in Japan who are reading this blog and wishes I write in Nihongo. Were you able to watch the show? Was she really great? If I can recall, the last time I watched the Miss Universe pageant was more than 10 years ago already. Tsk, tsk, I used to watch it every year before.

The Miss Universive pageant was aired live at ABS-CBN. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch it because of a medical examination. I was waiting for the telecast of this year’s Ms. U. because I thought that the Phil. contestant had a good chance of winning (graduated summa cum laude at UP-Dil -Mass Comm and is taking up law-secondyear). It was too bad because she didn’t win!… and yes- it has been more than 10 years for me- the last time I watch it was in 1994, where Ms. U. was held in Manila. .. Miss Japan is beautiful.

yeah it was really surprising for Japan to win. I have not watch Miss Universe, well I don’t usually watch it per se, I get bored with it. I just look at pictures of the finalist or just ask who won.
