don’t ring my bell when I’m sleeping

by Grace on December 16, 2007

I could not sleep well last Friday night. I woke up 5 times from 12 midnight to 6am. Imagine, that is an overwhelming every hour of waking up! My husband who has left for Japan last week is headed back here, expected to arrive at 5am Saturday morning at Dubai International Airport; that thought must have made me toss and turn in my sleep.

The reason is, he did not bring the house key with him (so that it will not get lost while he is in his trip abroad). He says there’s no need for me to wake up early since he will be taking the taxi home — so why am I restless you say. I am restless because I know that in any given minute, he will be ringing the door.

I hate alarm clocks — wait, I really have a point, don’t go away just yet! I don’t like to wake up to a ringing sound, I hate the way it makes my heart jump. So there, I kept waking up, checking the clock if it’s 6:30 am yet, his expected time to ring our bell.

As precise as he is, he did arrive at 6:30 and the door bell (not just him) made my heart jump!

I don’t like waking up feeling startled either. Unfortunately, that’s the way it is almost every morning whether it’s because of school or if I’m on a layover. I usually set 3 alarms because I’m afraid I won’t hear them.

BTW, love the holiday look. In fact, it’s the same one I used last year!
