** Congratulations to Stacie V! **

How would you like to read a story that is heartwarming, true and sends the gentle reminder of the true meaning of Christmas?

The Cole Family Christmas story, set in a small mining community of Benham, Kentucky has been passed from generation to generation. Hazel Cole Kendle, one of the nine Cole children shares the story of a very special family Christmas from her childhood to her granddaughter in-law and co-author Jennifer Liu Bryan.

In this world of materialism where Christmasses are almost synonymous to anything material, it’s a refreshing reaffirmation that love and togetherness far surpass material things.

The book comes in hardcover so it will last long and you can read it again in the following years. Inside are colorful illustrations that make reading to my five year old easy and fun.

Win it!
If you like to win a copy of this new book, please LEAVE A COMMENT in this post sharing the most memorable Christmas in your life (if you celebrate Christmas, that is).

My most memorable Christmas happened 5 years ago when I was confined in a hospital for the birth of my daughter. She was born few hours before Christmas eve. On Christmas night, there were no glittering lights or presents under the tree for me (and I was alone as guests are only allowed until 7 pm) but I was happy and contented as I held my new baby in my arms. That Christmas, I was filled with the magical feeling of the miracle of life, a great memory I’ll cherish forever in my heart.

I would love to hear your story!

Hmmm… most memorable Christmas? That would have to be the year that I had my tonsils out a week before Christmas and ended up with a thrush infection in my mouth. I spent Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning in the ER getting fluids and Demoral. I was a pitiful soul on Christmas day. I got a new electronic piano keyboard that I had REALLY wanted, but I barely had the energy to play it.

The most memorial would have to be when my first 2 grandbabies came along in the same year. It was the one that I remember I was really and truly blessed. Thank you!

Honestly, Christmas for me growing up wasn’t too fantastic.

My best ever Christmas came about 2 years ago. All of my daughters, my husband and I spent the day together. There was no fighting, lots of laughter and tons of love and good food! It was a very simple Christmas, but at the same time, was the best I’ve ever had.

My most memorable Christmas happened when both my children were together with their spouses and the grandkids for Christmas. It was wonderful having everyone together!

My most memorable Christmas was two years ago. I was very pregnant, had my daughter 3 days later. I was just so excited about her arrival and also felt special that she was inside me, and that I was sharing the holiday with her, even though she wasn’t born yet.

My most memorable Christmas was the year my middle daughter was born. She was only two weeks old on Christmas and it was so cold we all had to sleep together in the front bedroom and open our presents there in the morning. It was so cold, the water even froze in our kitchen sink. Luckily, the extreme weather only lasted a couple of days.

My most memorable Christmas would probably be the Christmas after I had my first son. He was born Dec. 15 and I was so happy to share Christmas with my newborn baby!

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful Christmas memory. My most memorable was when my parents started the tradition of choosing a needy family to buy gifts for and then on Christmas Eve we dropped the gifts off on their doorstep, rang the doorbell and ran. It was so exciting and taught me such a valualbe lesson of giving. We did this for many years, even though we didn’t have much money ourselves. I came to love Christmas Eve more than I did Christmas morning when opening our own gifts.

My most memorable christmas would be in 1997. I was newly married with a 3 month old baby. I was so happy that both my precious girl & I could celebrate together. I had a rough pregnancy, so it was a miracle :)

I think the most memorable would be the year my two sons and I were in San Diego, without the rest of our family. Just the three of us celebrating, headed to the beach, and then a friend invited us to their house at the last minute for dinner.

My most memorable Christmas was from when I was a child. I remember going skidooing on Christmas Eve and then going to visit family and friends the rest of the evening. Christmas morning we opened all our gifts and then played the whole day. My cousins came over for the day and we had so much fun!!

My most memorable Christmas was when I was a little girl and I got my Ms. Beasley doll. That was all I wanted and it was all I got but I was over the moon. My parents also had an uncle ring sleigh bells outside and I just KNEW Santa had arrived! I am 44 and I can still remember it like it was yesterday.

Thanks so much!

My most memorable Christmas was when my Grandpa had a heart attack on Christmas Eve. Not necessarily the most pleasant Christmas memory, but definitely the most vivid. In the end things turned out okay, but boy, what a strange thing to spend Christmas in the ICU. Definitely looking forward to this Christmas with my family!!

Why are the most memorable ones the ones we would rather forget? The year that stands out in my mind is when my 2 year old daughter wouldn’t poop and she would scream and cry trying to hold it in. It went on all day long. We felt so horrible but if she would have just let it out and pooped she would have had instant relief. Go figure. At least the baby was in a cheerful mood to offset it.
