Submit a giveaway

Sandier Pastures, a blog based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is starting to accept giveaway offer/s. I’d like to team up with different brands to give you a shout out at this side of the world.

Didn’t you know?

80% of Dubai’s population are expats from 200 countries around the world who are always on the lookout of new and hip products online. Promote your site/products here!

Wait! Just because this blog is based in the Middle East doesn’t mean readers of this blog are from this small area only! Check out this blog’s Clustrmaps (a cool widget to display visitor’s location) to know that readers of Sandier Pastures are spread out all over the world, from Dubai to South Africa to Brazil, New Zealand to Japan to Iceland. Heck, even someone from Easter Island is reading my blog, no not the Moais I suppose!

Seriously, sponsoring giveaways is the latest cheap form of advertisement that is a win-win-win situation for bloggers, readers and sponsors. By sponsoring a giveaway,

your shop/company will be mentioned in the giveaway post –> giving you back links

Participants of the giveaway contest are required to visit the sponsor’s site –> giving sponsors their precious traffic and exposure.

If participants get lucky –> they win something.

And what it’s got for me, you ask? I will be in the middle of all this fun. (I love discovering and reviewing new things)

Sponsors wanting to offer giveaway/s should contact me by email at: sandierpastures [at] gmail dot com mentioning the following:

1. Name of the giveaway they are offering and how many. (minimum value of $30.00)
Example: 1 T-shirt of winner’s choice (valued at $30.00)

2. Main URL of the sponsoring company.

3. Requirements: link to the sponsor’s site, specific text links to be used, if any

4. Shipping option: Worldwide or US only

Although I won’t decline offers from sponsors who only limit shipping of prizes to US addresses, I WELCOME SPONSORS WHO ARE WILLING TO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY.

…because I feel terrible about the idea that the internet and blogosphere goodness stops at the US border, making contests/giveaways look like an exclusive privilege given only to people in the 50 states.

5. Any other information you would want to include.

So how do I do it?

  • I run the giveaways for one week
  • A winner is drawn at random using random.org
  • Readers are required to visit the sponsor’s site and leave a comment saying something about the site. (Mentioning their favorite, etc)

Please note that I do not run giveaways where winners have to pay entry fees or shipping and handling. Also, sending a sample product is fabulous as it is a great way for me to write more about your company or your product. If you can’t send a sample, that’s cool, still.
