Thud! Did you hear that? You just landed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Are you beach ready? We are! Here are things I always bring during beach trips.
1. Sunblock – With the thinning of the ozone layer, this is a must have, especially for the young beach lover who doesn’t mind staying under the sun for hours!
2. Sunglasses – To protect our eyes from glare. I don’t remove my sunglasses even if I am in the water, unless of course, if I have to submerge my head.
3. Swimsuits – I prefer those that look like wet suits for scuba diving for the little girl. It saves her back from sunburn.
4. Floating device – For fun and for my safety – I can’t swim.
5. Water – Lots and lots of it.
6. Camera – I badly want an underwater camera to take photos of the fishes swimming around us even in shallow waters!
7. Hat – for the little girl.
8. Food – When we go to the beach, we usually stay for the whole day so we have our breakfast, lunch and snacks there. We are home by sunset.
9. Picnic mat – for picnic!
10. Tent – A must if we plan to spend the whole day there. Also convenient when we change our clothes and the changing room is too crowded.
11. Air bed – We bought this because sleep is definitely better using this than sleeping on the grass.
12. Small radio – we love to listen to good afternoon music while taking a nap inside the tent, under the trees.
13. First aid kit- With bandages, alcohol, fever medicine, itch lotion, betadine solution, band aids, wet tissue, etc.

Wow… so much preparation for the beach. I don’t go much in the summer. In the winter it’s just… good shoes and a warm sweater. And the camera, of course. Happy TT.
Wow you are so prepared. I’m one of those towel and sunglasses girls.
If only I were packing for the beach!

Sounds like you’re well prepared! We live close enough to a beach that we should go more often, and not just in the winter months when they’re empty, but it’s too chilly to really enjoy.

That is the one thing I miss about living in California is being less than 10 minutes away from the beach!
But we’re getting ready for POOL season. My husband’s working on getting it ready. If the weather holds up this month. I don’t know how hot it is in Dubai now, but here were in the mid 80’s by the end of next month, we’ll be well on our way to the 100Fs.
I’d love to be able to go to the beach. Splashing in the waves.Oh and the BBQ’s.
This is definetly my favorite time of year.

I’d love to spend the day at the beach instead of the pool, but at least the pool has ice cream and an inexpensive snack bar — and bathrooms.
Maybe it IS a fair trade, but probably not.

That all sounds wonderful. Can I come too?
Only a few more things I would add …Boogey Board (don’t know what the waves are like in Dubai) and a good book, heck even a BAD book will suffice on the beach.
Now I am anxiously awaiting our summer beach trips!
Happy TT!

My husband and I were just reminiscing about how he tried to take pictures under water with his camera in a plastic bag. Dumb!
