Growing up I desperately wanted a collie like Lassie. We got a mixed breed dog from a shelter who was probably a sheltie-collie mix and she was the sweetest, gentlest dog you could ever imagine.

I like Shiba-ken too!!!
But if I was to buy a dog now I think it would be a minature dachshound! So cute! I love their little legs!
Am going to help my dad buy a new puppy when I get back to Australia. He wants a blue cattle dog! We had one as a kid too and they are great!
I also like beagles and labradors!

What, no mention of German Shepherds?
This list is incomplete then. LOL
One is as good as the other. I do like Border Collies, though. They’re pretty clever.
Of course I think my own dog is the most beautiful and most fantastic dog in the whole wide world. All other dogs are just … well, dogs, you know?

I’m a greyhound girl, myself. My sister had one and it was the most fabulous dog. Not to cut down the two she currently has, but Sally was incredible. I’m not a dog person, but if I ever go that route, I’m rescuing a greyhound.

Nice list. I’ve never owned a dog, but I love my neighbor’s collies. In fact, I heard a radio commentator yesterday talking about a list some organization had released listing the smartest and dumbest dogs and border collie was #1 on the smartest list.
Happy TT!

I have a Bernese that is 10 years old. I had another one before too! They are THE BEST dogs in the world, but they unfortunately do not live long. Lifespan is 7.1 years, though at 10, here were are doing well!
I hope your lovely dog will live longer!
