Eid weekend at the beach

by Grace on October 16, 2007

Summer is ending or has ended in most parts of the world but our morning temperatures here in Dubai is still not below 30. Saturday weather was great, with a little wind but it was not so hot anymore.

We went to Jumeirah Beach Park, my favorite spot in Dubai so far, early in the morning so we can swim without being burned or without bumping with other swimmers. Last weekend was the end of Ramadan and so many people were heading for the beach.

As soon as we paid our entrance at the gate, Pristine grabbed me and ran towards the sea. The water was as usual very clear and clean. It felt so good to be back to the beach again. A month earlier, the sea water would have resembled a hot tub and the sand would burn our feet but at this time of the year, or at least a couple of days back, it was just perfect!

But because of the wind, once we get out of the water, it felt so cold! We immensely enjoyed the beach and stayed there the whole day to see the sun set. We brought our tent with us so we even had an afternoon nap.

Here is the slideshow:

Awesome, I wish I knew how to do those slideshows! You and your daughter are absolutely beautiful! What fun, I was just longing for the beach as I watched this, and I could almost feel the warm sand. I love how children pick up random friends without a second thought – why aren’t we adults so friendly and carefree?!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen what you look like! You’re so pretty just like I imagined! It’s so nice to see the face behind the blog.

What wonderful pictures – and a neat slideshow! We’re headed to the NC beach this weekend – but I’m sure it won’t be as warm :)
