no internet at work

This happened often before but it was just for a couple of hours, half day the longest. But today? There was no net connection until I logged off at 6pm. I am typing this at home while Pristine is on my lap and watching Happy Hippo in YouTube. This is the only way I can blog although the lyrics of the kiddie song disrupts me so much but well, no choice.
Rumors heard over at my department says my office is going to cut down on net costs and will only provide net connection to people whose work needs the internet. What the!?
There were no announcements whatsoever, they just had to cut our net connection completely like that. They say it might resume in the next two weeks but hey, time concept in Dubai takes out all the positivity left in one’s system. Two weeks could mean, two months….or never.
I have to bring my gigantic Japanese-English dictionary tomorrow as I can’t access the online resource. What a bummer!

That really sucks. I hope they’re not cutting you off. Blocking certain sites is one thing, but it can’t possibly be good for a company to hinder access to things like online dictionaries. Sheesh!

We were off all morning due to a reboot of the ISP. Finally got it back at noon. Can’t imagine being without access for too long!

…this is bad news! .. but good thing you own a Japanese-English dictionary, but how are you going to blog as often as you do if they did cut you off? … i’m sure they will not cut you off!

booooo for them! i wish that your office internet conxn returns much sooner than 2 weeks. if i’ll be in your shoes, i might be half crazy after a week( not that i am not yet one now )
